The Annie Awards, celebrating excellence in animation, have announced their 2009 nominations.  The home entertainment category includes the following straight-to-DVD titles:

Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas
Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder
Green Latern: First Flight
Open Season 2
SpongeBob vs. The Big One

Previous winners in this category include Futurama: The Beast With a Billion Backs, Futurama: Bender’s Big Score, Bambi II, Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch, The Lion King 11/2, and The Animatrix.  With no Disney sequels in the mix, looks like the odds-on favorite this year is Green Yonder.

Winners will be announced February 6, 2010.
