Can you believe it’s been ten years since Jason Biggs made sweet love to a pastry?  A decade later, American Pie: The Book of Love, the seventh (you read that right) installment in the straight-to-DVD-since-four franchise has arrived and the reviews all boil down to one form or another of, “If you liked the other straight-to-DVD sequels, you’ll like this one, too.”

HeyUGuys has the most complimentary take, finding this entry a chip off the old (in their opinion, good) block.  We Are Movie Geeks doesn’t quite buy that argument, finding plenty to hate about the previous direct-to-video sequels and finding this a slight improvement because (a) it doesn’t focus on a member of the Stiffler family and (b) is written by someone who actually had something to do with one of the theatrical sequels (a guy with a story credit from 2).  FilmShaft flat-out hates the film and all the DTV sequels that came before it, offering what may be the most useful (albeit spoiler-ish) review since it goes into detail about some the gags and lets you know pretty much at a glance if this is for you.
