While Erik Gruenwedel over at Home Media Magazine finds All Hell Broke Loose to be a rather by-the-numbers Western, in his review, he singles out David Carradine for his supporting turn:
“Though his role is limited, Carradine’s deliberate country drawl — punctuated periodically with the utmost clarity — sly smile and warm eyes bring a sense of authenticity to an oft-told story involving bad men with guns on horses.”
Gruenwedel seems pretty impressed with co-writer/star Jim Hilton as well, saying that his screen time with Carradine “saves the film.”
All Hell Broke Loose arrives Tuesday. You can pre-order it here.

David Carradine stars as US Marshal Ian McHenry in the straight-to-DVD western All Hell Broke Loose, in which a sharpshooter (Jim Hilton) finds post-Civil War work as a reluctant assassin. To say this is one of Carradine’s last roles seems accurate until to you take a look at his IMDb page and realize he still has ten or so movies yet-to-be released (including one that’s still filming!). It’s a testament to the strength of this actor that he really never stopped working. Really.
All Hell breaks loose on December 1st. You can pre-order it here.
