Facing Ali, director Pete McCormack’s profile of Muhammad Ali through the eyes of his opponents, recently won the Best British Columbia Film award from the Vancouver Film Critics Circle.  This is not the first time Vancouver has feted the documentary, which won the Audience Award for Most Popular Nonfiction Film at the Vancouver International Film Festival last October.  The film has also made the Oscar doc short list, which means it must have had a qualifying run in New York and Los Angeles, but as far as coverage in this blog goes, Tinker Bell rules apply.

The film, available now on DVD, will air on Spike TV starting February 15th.

Facing Ali, which just dropped on DVD this week, tells the story of Muhammed Ali through the eyes of those who fought him.  Director Pete McCormack interviewed a slew of his opponents to get their perspective on The Greatest.  Back when the film screened at SilverDocs, Washington DC Metblogs scored a phoner with McCormack.
