For a straight-to-DVD movie to have its own soundtrack is fairly rare, but to get a music video is almost unheard of.  Debby Ryan’s cover of “Deck the Halls” provides the soundtrack for a music video promoting the upcoming Santa Buddies prequel The Search for Santa Paws, which arrives on DVD and Blu-ray November 23rd.  Ryan herself does not appear in the film, though her Disney background makes her an obvious pick to promote the Disney-owned Buddies franchise.  The film is not short, however, on kid-friendly talent, with The Game Plan‘s Madison Pettis and America’s Got Talent‘s Kaitlyn Maher in the cast.  Plus, you know, puppies.

Enjoy!

Hurricane Season making its way to the top after almost five weeks of release.  In the meantime, Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure looking to crack $50 million if the latest available numbers from, um, The Numbers are any indication.  At this point, you can pretty much close the book on who will win the top straight-to-DVD seller of 2009 award.  Second place will probably go to Santa Buddies‘ north of $30 million haul, although its Space Buddies compatriot may still beat it on units sold.

  3. Staten Island
  4. The Tournament
  5. The Maiden Heist
  6. Wrong Turn 3
  7. Hardwired
  8. The Line
  9. Trick ‘r Treat

Not much change from last week.  Accidental Husband and Staten Island switch places, a testament to the enduring popularity of Uma Thurman or the dearth of romantic comedies in the field?  Other than that, Trick ‘r Treat falling off faster than The Line and Lies & Illusions gone forever, leaving us with only one Cuba Gooding Jr. title on the chart.  We’ll see if Wrong Turn at Tahoe can make it onto the charts before Hardwired disappears.

The straight-to-DVD sales charts show even less movement, with Santa Buddies and Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure still in the one and two slots.
